Overview
The Fengine S7800E Series High-End Intelligent Tera-bit Core Routing Switch (hereinafter referred to as S7800E) is a high-performance, rack-mounted core multi-service switch specially designed and developed by FiberHome Communications for the next-generation campus network core and data center service aggregation.
This product adopts an advanced multi-layer switching architecture, providing continuous bandwidth upgrade capability and supporting 40GE and 100GE Ethernet standards. Developed based on FiberHome's independently researched and developed Unified Switching Platform (USP), the S7800E not only delivers large entry capacity and high-performance Layer 2/Layer 3 switching services but also further integrates a variety of network services such as data center VxLAN, SDN technology, MPLS VPN, and hardware IPv6. It offers multiple high-reliability technologies including separate control and switching planes, N+1 redundancy for switching fabric boards, hitless upgrade, non-stop forwarding, and ring network protection. These features not only improve users' production efficiency but also ensure maximum network uptime, thereby reducing customers' Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
By deploying highly scalable and flexible service line cards such as the LC-F20-4C-CFP-H4 (H-series 4-port 100GE optical line card), LC-F20-12Q-QSFP-H4 (H-series 12-port 40GE optical line card), and LC-F20-48X-SFP-H4 (H-series high-density 48-port 10GE optical line card), the S7800E Series Switches can fully support the deployment of customers' small and medium-sized data centers, bringing customers new innovative experiences.
Product FeaturesHigh-Density Service Line Cards with Rich Interface Types
The S7800E provides access capability for large-capacity and high-density ports. A single device can support up to 40 100GE ports, 160 40GE ports, and 480 10GE ports, meeting the high-density aggregation needs of data centers for industry users and telecommunications operators.
High Switching Capacity and Wire-Speed Switching Performance
The S7800E supports a maximum backplane bandwidth of 56T, providing non-blocking wire-speed forwarding performance for all ports. Its powerful processing capability serves as a crucial guarantee for building a reliable, stable, and high-speed IP network platform.
The hardware of the S7800E supports multi-layer wire-speed switching, enabling it to identify and process application service flows above Layer 4. Each port features independent packet filtering, distinguishing between different application flows and implementing differentiated management and control based on these flows.
Rich QoS Policies
Comprehensive IPv6 Functions
The S7800E supports IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack and implements wire-speed IPv6 forwarding and processing through hardware. It supports multiple tunneling technologies including manual tunnels and 6to4 tunnels, as well as IPv6 static routing, OSPFv3, IS-ISv6, BGP4+, IPv6 PIM, and IPv6 ACL.
It supports mixed IPv4/IPv6 network deployment, meeting the requirement for smooth transition from IPv4 to IPv6 networks.
Powerful Security Features
The S7800E offers full ACL (Access Control List) support. In addition to standard ACLs and extended ACLs, it also provides time-based ACLs, enabling rich and flexible control policies. It supports multiple VPN technologies such as MPLS VPN/VLL (Virtual Leased Line)/VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service), IPsec, L2TP, and GRE, and also supports MPLS OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance), ensuring more secure and reliable data services for enterprise network users.
It supports the user-based access control protocol 802.1X, providing more effective user port control capabilities compared to traditional access control methods. The port MAC address limitation function can restrict the number of hosts accessing through a single port.
Networking Applications
The S7800E provides access capability for large-capacity and high-density ports (supporting up to 40 100GE ports, 160 40GE ports, and 480 10GE ports per device), meeting the high-density aggregation needs of data centers for industry users and telecommunications operators.
For operators' metropolitan area network (MAN) project construction, with the goal of their own business development and considering their unique conditions in policies, services, funds, and technologies, the construction focuses on building municipal-level IP backbone MANs targeting interactive services, large-customer MPLS VPN, and personal bandwidth services. By adopting FiberHome's S7800E Series High-End Tera-bit Routing Switches as the Ethernet aggregation layer, which directly connects to service control points (such as traditional BNGs/vBNGs in edge data centers), the switches complete high-capacity Layer 2 aggregation and transmit services to the IP MAN.
Additionally, the S7800E can be widely used in core/aggregation layers of scenarios such as enterprise campus networks, government office networks, university campus networks, and video surveillance networks, as well as in the core/aggregation layers of enterprise-level data centers.
